Day-by-Day Itinerary

A daily route covering the full 16-day safari, transfers, activities, lodges, and meals.

Your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by a guide from TVent Rwenzori Safaris dedicated to welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. If time permits, you could take a stroll through the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, where you can enjoy a peaceful walk, spot local wildlife like monkeys, and see colorful birds such as the African grey parrot. You’ll also get an introduction to Uganda’s rich biodiversity.

Start your safari in Uganda with a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you'll track rhinos on foot with expert guides. This sanctuary plays a critical role in the revival of rhinos in Uganda, and you'll learn about the history and efforts to conserve them. Afterwards continue with the safari to Murchison Falls National Park, enjoying scenic views of the countryside and rural life along the way.

Your day 3 begins with an exciting game drivethrough the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park, where you'll encounter wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, lions, and buffalo. Later, enjoy a boat cruise along the Nile River, where you can view hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of wild birds. The day ends with a visit to the Murchison Falls, where the Nile forces its way through a narrow seven-metergorge, creating a powerful waterfall.

After breakfast, you will travel south to Kibale Forest National Park, known as the "primate capital of the world." Along the way, you will pass through lush landscapes and scenic tea plantations. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy some downtime. In the evening, participate in a cultural experience with the community.

You will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through the beautiful Ndali Crater Lakes, surrounded by ancient forests with towering trees, hold cultural significance with local legends, and support diverse ecosystems of birds and butterflies. Formed by volcanic activity, their dramatic cliffs and nearby therapeutic hot springs add to their unique allure and offering incredible views. After checking into your lodge, take an afternoon game drive in the Kasenyi Plains to spot elephants, lions, Uganda Kob, and more.

On day 7, enjoy an early-morning game drive to spot predators like lions, hyenas, and leopards. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a waterway that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. During the cruise, you'll see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds such as the pink-backed pelican. This area is also home to several fishing villages, and you may visit one to experience local fishing practices and try your hand at local fishing techniques.

An early morning drive will take you to the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth, home to the famous tree-climbing lions. After your game drive, continue your journey south to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the heart of Uganda’s gorilla conservation efforts. You will visit a local Batwa community, one of the indigenous groups that once lived in forests. Here, you’ll learn about their history, traditional dances, and how they’ve adapted to life outside the forest.

The memorable moment is gorilla trekking. Trek through dense forest terrain in search of one of the resident gorilla families. Spending an hour with these gentle giants is awe inspiring experience. We will drive to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most stunning lakes. Known for its 29 islands, Lake Bunyonyi offers picturesque views and is a great spot for a canoe ride to explore the islands. It is also a great place of beauty and seclusion. As you explore, you will encounter several local communities, each with its unique culture and history. You will also learn about the traditional fishing methods used by the local fishermen.

It will be an early morning, drive to Lake Mburo National Park, one of Uganda’s smallest national parks but rich in wildlife and unique landscapes. Once there you can indulge in a walking safari to get up close with zebras, giraffes, and other herbivores. In the afternoon, visit a nearby local community to learn about their cultural practices and how they live in harmony with the wildlife around the park. You can engage in traditional dances and enjoy Ugandan music.

This day begins with an early game drive in order to catch more wildlife as they come out to forage in Lake Mburo. They include buffalos, elands, and the beautiful impalas. Afterward, take a boat cruise on Lake Mburo to observe hippos and a variety of bird species. You will also visit a local fishing village to see how the community sustains itself from fishing, and you can even try your hand at fishing.

Transfer to Jinja stopping over at the Equator for memorable photos. It is the adventure capital of Uganda, located at the source of the Nile River.

After morning breakfast, you’ll take a boat trip to the Source of the Nile, a historically significant site where Indian Independence fighter MahtMaGhandi’s ashy remains were cast into the Nile. You can also participate in activities like white-water rafting or bungee jumping downstream of the Nile if you are an adrenaline seeking adventurist. In the afternoon, visit a local community to learn about their crafts, including basket weaving and pottery, and understand their traditions.

After breakfast, it will be back to Entebbe and take a morning boat trip to Ngamba Island, a sanctuary for orphaned chimpanzees. Return to Entebbe for a final evening, where you may visit Uganda Wildlife Education Centre to learn more about the country’s conservation efforts and its wildlife.
